The results of a new morphotectonic analysis of the Quaternary marine terraces and palaeo-shorelines of the Ionian coast between Rocca Imperiale (northern Calabria) and the area of Taranto (Puglia) are presented. More than ten orders of marine terraces were recognized, whose palaeo-shorelines show an evident vertical convergence towards NE due to a process of regional tectonic tilting. A critical review of geochronological data from previous works, integrated with a morphogenic model based on the interaction between tectonic uplift and eustatic changes of sea level, allowed us to propose a 350-to-40 ka age for the whole series of marine terraces. Finally, values of tectonic uplift rate ranging from nearly 2 mm/yr to about 0.2 mm/a were assessed.

Abstract
Finally, values of tectonic uplift rate ranging from nearly 2 mm/yr to about 0.2 mm/a were assessed.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
