The effect of eyeglasses with metallic frames on the field emitted by a cellular phone antenna has been investigated both numerically and experimentally. The obtained results, validated also by numerical modelling, suggest that the coupling can locally enhance the field. In particular, the high values of the electric field in the eye region call for further analysis, in order to prevent possible health hazard.
