To investigate the pore pressure effects on the stability of a streambank, a series of transducers have been installed in a bank of the Sieve river, Tuscany. Four piezo-tensiometers are set inside the upper layer at increasing depths from the top of the bank; pore pressure is measured continously, during low stage periods and during floods.Rainfall, discharge and water height data are also collected.

Abstract
