In this paper we suggest the way of choosing suitable boundary conditions in the problem of blood flow in a truncated pipe. This is a model problem in view of a numerical procedure to describe the formation and evolution of arterial aneurysms. We introduce "do nothing" boundary conditions via a variational formulation of the problem and discuss the relevant situations of prescribing either the flux through the pipe or the pressure drop.

Abstract
In this paper we suggest the way of choosing suitable boundary conditions in the problem of blood flow in a truncated pipe. This is a model problem in view of a numerical procedure to describe the formation and evolution of arterial aneurysms. We introduce "do nothing" boundary conditions via a variational formulation of the problem and discuss the relevant situations of prescribing either the flux through the pipe or the pressure drop.File in questo prodotto:
