The paper deals with the taphonomic signatures of coralline algal facies in Oligocene shallow water platform carbonate successions from Slovenia. After reviewing the taphonomic aspects recognizable in fossil coralline algal assemblages, a detailed (qualitative and semi-quantitative) analysis of the Oligocene coralline facies outcropping in Gornji Grad area is performed. A palaeoenvironmental facies model is proposed.

Abstract
The paper deals with the taphonomic signatures of coralline algal facies in Oligocene shallow water platform carbonate successions from Slovenia. After reviewing the taphonomic aspects recognizable in fossil coralline algal assemblages, a detailed (qualitative and semi-quantitative) analysis of the Oligocene coralline facies outcropping in Gornji Grad area is performed. A palaeoenvironmental facies model is proposed.File in questo prodotto:
